Commitment. I stare down the face of a wave as a voice shouts, “how committed are you!???” “Do you have it in you???” “Can you make the drop??” Doubt, fear, and hesitation race forward, egging the voice on, cheering for a grand finale… But the voice, the questions, come to a screeching halt as I cross the border back into the present moment.
My actions speak louder than any voice. As I prepare for the drop-in, my gaze radiates focus, my passion blossoms from the inside-out creating a bubble for here and now.
When living in the present moment, every second is commitment. Mindfulness is being fully committed to the now. The more one practices this, the more natural it becomes. The more natural it becomes, the more commitment emanates from moment to moment. With that being the foundation of all, subsequently- doubt, fear, and hesitation have nowhere else to go, but away.
This doesn’t dismiss planning, goal setting, or reflecting. It actually enhances them. Because when we can focus, commit, and act in the present while achieving these tasks- we are working with life, with the wave, staying connected at each phase of the ride, which allows us to fully experience it.
