As we are pushed, we are also pulled.
I float through the riptide. The water churns on each side creating a funnel that escorts me to the line-up.
I make it out, hair dry. Then I glance back at the friend or foe type current. “Is it pushing or pulling?” I think to myself. An underwater image emerges in my mind, the blueprint of riptide mechanics. The outer arrows of this picture point towards the beach as the middle arrows point for the horizon. These counterforces are miraculous, they create enough power to plow through sandbars, rush swimmers out to sea, and even exhibit choppy water textures.
Somehow it all relates back to life, life on land. Being pushed or pulled? I guess it all just depends on which way you are facing. Nonetheless, the forces that appear to be opposing, are working together for you, guiding you, redirecting you, escorting you. Trust in the currents.
